Keynote Address - Skyscrapers and Chip Design

John Chilton - Sr. VP, GM, Solutions Group, Synopsys, Inc., Mountain View, CA

Building an IC has more in common with building a skyscraper than you might think. They are both monumental projects requiring precise planning, timing, budgets, and a host of other critical success factors. And, sometimes, the bottlenecks are unpredictable, requiring formal processes and hard-won experience to address them and stay on track.

In his keynote, John Chilton, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Solutions Group at Synopsys, Inc., shares insights on design productivity based on data gathered from real design projects. Many managers believe that the key to better productivity lies primarily in the quality of the tools, but that’s not the whole story. Join us to better understand the influencers of design productivity – those that you will recognize, and others that may surprise you.
